2008 Race Day Awards Policy
  • Try-A-Tri - 10 year age groups for both men and women.  Plaques will go 3 deep in each category. Those age group with over 25 participants in their combined age group will go 5 deep.
  • Duathlons - 10 year age groups and they will also go 3 deep for both men and women.Those age group with over 25 participants in their combined age group will go 5 deep.
  • Triathlon - 5 year age categories that go 3 deep for both men and women.  Certain age groups, depending on the number of athletes entered, will go 5 deep.
  • Race Age - will be based on age as of Dec 31, 2008 for all athletes
  • Relays - There are no relay categories. All relays will be treated as equal and compete for gold, silver and bronze medallions.
  • The Heavyweights: Clydesdale Category - Athletes will need to choose if they are a Clydesdale or Age Group athlete at the start of the season.  If you choose Clydesdale and also place in your age group, then the age group spot goes to the next person in line.
    Awards will be given out at each event for:
    • The fastest males under 40 - 210 lbs.
    • The fastest males 40 - 210 lbs.
    • The fastest females under 40 - 160 lbs.
    • The fastest females 40 - 160 lbs.
    • Mandatory weigh-ins will be required at selected events.
    • Sorry, no awards to Clydesdale categories in Try-a-Tri events.
  • Prizes and Awards -Category winners will receive a plaque for their accomplishments.  A variety of draw prizes will be available to all participants from out series sponsors.  Plaques not picked up at events will be mailed to recipient upon request at a cost of $6.50 for postage and handling.  All unclaimed plaques will be recycled at the end of the year.
  • Trisport has increased the number of plaques this year for both men and women due to the increase in number of competitors.
  • The chart below shows which races and which age groups get 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place plaques.  All other age groups will get 1st, 2nd and 3rd place plaques.

Calculating Points Standings - the best 11 races count!

All races but those specified in red are based on the following points: If you race and get 1st to 15th place in your age group at any of our events (excluding try a tri) you will collect points. At the end of the year you collect the most points in your series in your age group you will be invited to the Trisport Year End Banquet. Points are accumulated in 5 year age groups for all Series.(OTS, OSS, ODS). Olympic Distance Duathlons will be worth 150 points vs 100 points for Sprint Du’s.  Please see the Results page for Points Standings.
