Niagara (Grimsby) – July 21, 2024

One of the nicest settings for triathlon and duathlon. Very compact triathlon site that creates a fun, family friendly atmosphere!  Very quick drive from Toronto on race morning! Race in the morning and check out Wine Country after your race! For those ladies who are also looking to compete in the Women’s Triathlon Festival;  this is the same race site. Come get yourself ready for big race by first trying out the Try-A-Tri, which uses portions of the same routes you will be using in the Women’s races!

COURSE MAPS

Try-A-Tri ~ 375m – 10K- 2.5K

We often say this is the best Try-a-Tri event for new triathletes. The swim in Lake Ontario is one of the nicer courses in the series.  The water is clear and if you are a weak swimmer in the Try-a-Tri race you can hug the shore for the entire swim.  The Try-a-Tri bike course starts off flat and stays flat for the entire ride. It’s an out and back course with no real technical turns etc.  The run course is the flattest in our series with an out and back on the return trip to the finish line.  Be sure to celebrate your victory when you finish, as FinisherPix will be there to capture your photo at the line!

Try-A-Tri Relay ~ 375m- 10K- 2.5K

The RELAY option is an excellent way to get involved in the sport without having to do it all! Gather one or two friends or family members and create a team! Each athlete takes one or two of the disciplines and it is a whole lot of FUN! (see course description for triathlon). Each athlete is entitled to all the perks of the individual triathlete (race kit, food, water, Technical Tee etc.) Relay teams have their own area in transition and each bike rack is labeled specifically for that. It also should be noted that the TEAM shares ONE timing chip. The timing chip acts as the exchange baton like you would see at a relay running race. The swimmer begins the race with the chip on their ankle. The biker waits in Transition and once the swimmer returns from the swim, the chip will be exchanged. In order to help the team stay organized and out of the path of all the other athletes in transition, we ask relay members wait by their designated rack area where the chip exchange will happen. The same will happen for the run portion and once the runner crosses the finish line you can all meet there to celebrate your victory!
NOTE: Please have the whole team available at the same time for race kit pick up. All athletes must pick up their kits together and be present to sign their waivers.

Sprint Triathlon ~ 500m- 25K- 5K

The swim in Lake Ontario is quickly becoming a series favourite. It’s an in-water start, lining up from the shore out about 30 meters.  The swim will start 500m down the beach (which is easiest to get to by walking west from Nelles Beach Park along the sidewalk to Morrison Crescent.  The swim is parallel to the shore and you can stagger yourself appropriately to be able to touch if needed. The Sprint bike is an out and back course which heads along Lake St/North Service Road all the way to Victoria Ave in Vineland.  It is fast, flat and ideal for beginners!  The run course is the flattest in our series with an out and back on roads on the return trip to the finish line. This event is lovely because the site is very compact and makes for a lot of festivity!

COURSE MAPS

Sprint Duathlon~ 2K- 25K- 5K

Your race begins with a short 2km run just after the triathletes start their race. Walk out to Lake Street (not far from the finish line). Duathletes will gather there about 10 min before their race to receive any last minute pre- race information before beginning.  The first 2km is run on rolling paved roads with a short distance following some hard packed trails.  The Sprint bike is an out and back course which heads along Lake St/North Service Road all the way to Victoria Ave in Vineland.  It is fast, flat and ideal for beginners!  The run course is the flattest in our series, an out and back on roads to the return trip to the finish line.
